The interaction of paint, canvas and the brush allow me to give expression to both the beauty of the natural world and my growing awareness of the extent to which all life and living things are deeply connected. All aspects of life are made up of a few basic elements, yet somehow they manifest as a vast diversity of organisms. My goal is to employ a surrealistic approach to convey the connectivity of nature within itself and our place within it. As a self-taught artist balancing my “surreal” view with the “realism” of painting has been challenging, but I am driven to continue expanding my capacity to do so.
